A job
is defined by
referencing all the various predefined table mappings
and/or SQL
statement
operations
and relating
these to a particular batch. Associated
with each job is a sequence field that determines the order jobs associated with
a batch are run in. Making the
sequence number multiples of 10 allows new jobs to be easily inserted into a
batch.
Creating a job record can be broken
down into the following tasks:
q
Job Details
Job Details covers both the top-level information associated with the job as
well as the detailed instructions on the task to be undertaken.
q
Processing Options
Processing Options covers how SLIK manages, or processes, the job.
Batch, Transfer, Alert, Logging and Thread options are defined under the
Processing Options tab.
To create a new Job record for a basic
Job record follow the steps below.
Each Batch must have at least one
associated Job record. While the
batch activates the job it is the Job details that instruct what operation
occurs.
