 Mike Nelson

Mike Nelson is an entrepreneur. He has been Managing Director of his own companies since 1975. His experience has mainly been in the Motor Vehicle Sales Industry but Mike has been interested in computers since his first one, a Commodore 64, in 1982. In 1983 Mike spent a year in California where he purchased an IBM PC.  Returning to New Zealand in 1984 he started P.C. Power Ltd that sold such classics as WordStar and Lotus 123, among others, to clients like the Defence Department, Ministry of Energy, NZ Railways, Philips Electrical. He sold the business in 1986 and returned to Motor Vehicles. In 1988 he was the first independent dealer to import vehicles from Japan into Wellington. In 1992 he left New Zealand for Chile where he imported vehicles from Japan and re-exported them to Peru, Bolivia and Paraguay. Mike has also taken vehicles from the USA to Japan and from Japan to Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Czech Republic and England.

Mike attributes his success with Motor Vehicles in large part to his skills with computers that enabled him to manage large quantities of vehicles and to analyse sales so as to determine demand etc.

Mike met Chris Wenzlick, Technical Director of SLIK Software Ltd, through a newsgroup NZ.comp and instantly recognised the potential of SLIK. Having become more familiar with SLIK has only served to make Mike more of an enthusiast.
